At 1 in 46, you are in control of your data. This page explains your rights, how to exercise them, and what to expect when you submit a request.
Your Rights Overview
Regardless of where you are located, we provide all 1 in 46 users with the following data rights:
- Right to Access: You can request a complete copy of all personal data we hold about you, including dream entries, interpretations, social activity, and account information.
- Right to Export: You can request a portable export of your data in a standard, machine-readable format.
- Right to Deletion: You can request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Right to Correction: You can request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You can request that we limit how your data is processed in certain circumstances.
Data Export Request
You can request a full export of your 1 in 46 data at any time. Your export will include:
- All dream journal entries (text and metadata)
- AI-generated interpretations and source classifications
- Social activity (public shares, resonances, comments)
- Account profile information
- Subscription history
Format
Exported data is provided in JSON format, packaged as a downloadable ZIP archive. Dream Cinema videos, if applicable, are included as separate media files.
Timeline
Data export requests are processed within 48 hours of verification. You will receive a notification when your export is ready to download.
Account Deletion
You may request the permanent deletion of your 1 in 46 account at any time. Please be aware of the following:
- Permanent and Irreversible: Account deletion cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems.
- What Is Deleted: All dream entries, interpretations, Dream Cinema videos, social activity, profile information, and subscription records.
- Active Subscriptions: If you have an active paid subscription, please cancel it through your app store before requesting account deletion. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel app store subscriptions.
- Processing Time: Account deletion is typically completed within 48 hours. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being fully purged.
How to Submit a Request
You can exercise your data rights through two methods:
In-App Settings
Navigate to Settings > Privacy > Data Rights within the 1 in 46 app. From there, you can initiate a data export or account deletion directly.
Send your request to privacy@1in46.app. Please include the email address associated with your 1 in 46 account and specify the type of request (access, export, deletion, or correction).
Verification Process
To protect your privacy, we verify your identity before processing data rights requests. Verification may include:
- Confirming ownership of the email address associated with your account
- Sending a verification code to your registered email address
- Requesting additional identifying information for requests made outside the app
We will never ask for sensitive information such as passwords or payment card numbers during the verification process.
Expected Turnaround Times
- Data Access / Export: Within 48 hours of identity verification
- Account Deletion: Within 48 hours of identity verification (backup purge within 30 days)
- Data Correction: Within 48 hours of identity verification
